Greetings T3 –
Another semi boring email. I get hardly any news from out there from the geospatial world. I guess I could plagiarize and steal info from the GEOINT Facebook pages but then it would be old news. Got a couple things to pass along and one is about me (sorry).
I’ve been trying to locate SGM Joachim Mazur the past several months. I texted fellow friend Kirby Hall last week trying to find out about the good SGM and Kirby called me almost immediately. The SGM had lost a leg guessing a little over a year ago. Evidently, he has had bad maneuverability issues and had to get professional help. I’m still hoping to get to talk with him. Obviously, all that know him are hoping for the best for him. He’s a great man and the only former schoolhouse member to be in the Agency Hall of Fame. I always felt honored when he referred to me as one of his former instructors.
Me? Although I am still (I think) part of the younger generation of TOPO folks at seventy-seven- and three-quarter years of age I’ve been having some medical issues lately. A couple weeks ago while at my flea market set up a couple of my steady customers noted I was having some slurred speech, and my left eye was slightly shut. I was having a small stroke. A cautious drive to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center enabled me to obtain a room for three days. After all necessary tests, a blood clot was found in the left rear of my brain which they were able to bust up (the clot, not the brain). Am I ok now? Well the thing that has me worried is that I thought the hospital food was pretty good. Speaking about food part of my healing journey requires me to not eat anything I like. My system is cleaned out pretty good right now and I figure if it took around 77 years to screw it up I should have another 77 years to mess it up again. I’m being careful. My wife won’t let me overdo anything. If there is a lettuce and tomato shortage you an blame me. Lesson partially learned at least.
Speaking about overeating our next dinner at the Hibachi Grill is this coming Monday, August 12th at 1830 hours. I need folks there to monitor what I am eating and to remind me to not over do it!! (That’s my wife’s suggestion!) The Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is conveniently located at 1965 Danield Stuart Square, Woodbridge, Va 22191 – right near the intersection of route one and Opitz Boulevard. RSVP not required but I’d like to know if you are coming or planning to.
Batt out.
