Happy Spring T3!!

I’ve intentionally avoided saying happy tax month.  For me it will be an ugly tax return for the first time.  I was happy to make about a 10% profit on a my large sports card collection sale only to find out Uncle Sam wants twenty percent.  The person that I bought most of it from has since passed away so I am without a lot of receipts.   I’ll have an experience filling in the blanks.

Hope all had a good Easter/Passover if it was appropriate.  I’ve never known how to express it so with a little bit of luck you know what I mean.

Our last get together brought out a couple of folks I hadn’t seen in a while.  For the first time I had gone to our DMS Facebook page and posted about our lunch and Dale Anderson and Karl Apt showed up. Neither had received any of my emails since the COVID scare.   I thought Karl had moved to Florida and that Dale was simply too ill to attend.  Karl is still in Woodbridge and Dale had surgery that eliminated his need for his wheel chair.  They are both D-TOPO alumni who stayed through to DMS.  It was great seeing them again.  As usual John and Sara Jens, Virgil Tarry and Barney Free attended with me.  Our next get together, this coming Monday April 8th at 1830 hours should have Bob Urban and Ray Chapman attending.  Bob will be in the middle of a trip visiting his grandson in Virginia and has us fit in as well.  If his plans go well I’ll be seeing him that Sunday too.  He is planning on seeing my flea market mess that Sunday afternoon.  We hope to have dinner together after the flea closes.  If by any chance you are in the Fredericksburg area around five PM on Sunday please consider joining us.  Give me a scream if you need more information.   Ray, our website guru, hopefully will have his bride with him on Monday.  Hope that jumble was easy to interpret between Sunday and Monday.  Anyway on Monday  we will be at the usual place, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet, 1965 Daniel Stuart Square, Woodbridge, Va  22191.  No RSVP is required.  Just show up and enjoy!!  Although the old stipulation still applies –
you have to be able to spell the word MAP but luckily I don’t take off for spelling.

In the fighting the odds category I was as close as I have ever been in the recent billion dollar lottery.  The winning ticket was in New Jersey and I used to live there.  That’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to winning.   Getting the message “Congratulations you’ve won two dollars” is usually my reward for buying a five dollar ticket.  Perhaps someday……..

Batt out.
